About Tommy

The following bio was written for the souvenir program of a private concert by (we suspect) someone who reads (to the exclusion of all else) 1962-era album liner notes and PLAYBILL "Who's Who In The Cast" blurbs.
Stodgy it is, but since we've been getting abuse of late for not having any info on this ABOUT page, and since it's all we have at the moment, it'll have to do until we get something more pithy.

TOMMY WILLIAMS hails from Merrick, New York, and has been filling his corner of the world with music of all kinds since he could pound a drumbeat on Tupperware bowls with wooden spoons, humming along to Beatle records he owned at age 2. His professional credits include: a 5-year stint with MAZARIN (3-time winner of Good Times magazine's "Best Band on LI" poll), 3 albums, 2 world tours and many TV appearances as Musical Director/Guitarist/Keyboardist for 80's teen pop singer DEBBIE GIBSON (including lead guitar on the #1 hit, "Lost In Your Eyes"), numerous radio jingles and voice-overs, and many corporate affairs. He's also played with TOMMY SHAW of STYX, ERIC BAZILIAN of THE HOOTERS, and CHEAP TRICK's ROBIN ZANDER and TOM PETERSSON. Theater is also a passion: as an actor in local/regional productions of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, THE ROBBER BRIDEGROOM, GEORGE M! and GODSPELL, and as musical director for GODSPELL and BYE BYE BIRDIE. His current activities include his first solo CD TWO HUNDRED, vocal/guitar/bass/keyboards with WONDEROUS STORIES (recreating art-rock classics of the '60's and '70's) and his collaborations with HOLLI ANN LA ROCCA. His most treasured career moment: meeting and playing with BOB DYLAN. "You may meet many famous artists in this lifetime, but rarely any icons."
